“If These Doesn’t Amaze You, I Don’t Know What Will” Omtatah Stunned With Ex-CS Treasury Revelations

As President William Ruto turned over power to John Mbadi, his successor, Njuguna Ndung’u, the immediate former National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, revealed long-standing problems in the administration. Ndung’u made the shocking discovery that the government is beset with dishonest pensioners, ghost workers, and a broken system for funding education that needs immediate fixing. Ndung’u claims that taxpayer money is even being given to schools that don’t exist, demonstrating the grave waste of public cash. His disclosures have provoked indignation and raised questions about Kenya’s current political system.

Strongly reacting to the former CS’s remarks, prominent attorney and activist Okiya Omtatah said, “If this doesn’t make you rage with anger and weep for our nation, I don’t know what will.” Omtatah’s comments are indicative of Kenyans’ mounting dissatisfaction with the institutionalized corruption and inefficiencies impeding their nation’s development. John Mbadi, the new Treasury Chief, has the difficult job of resolving these important concerns and gaining the public’s confidence in the government’s financial management.
