While there’s nothing really extraordinary about the overall look of the realme 13+ 5G, we appreciate how the device was designed the way it is. Its flat edges complement its flat screen which gives it a unibody that’s pleasing to the eyes. The back part of the device is mostly made out of plastic but realme added a design detail that makes it resistant to fingerprint and smudges. Plus, it comes with the realme-patented ArmorShell Protection to make sure that the durability department is well covered. That’s in addition to an IP65 rating, which means the realme 13+ 5G can withstand dust and water splashes.

The realme 13+ 5G feels solid and sturdy in the hands. It provides easy grip with its flat edges and lightweight body, although a one-hand use might be quite the task for those with smaller hands with this tall device. On paper, the device weighs 185g with a 7.6mm-thin body.

DISPLAY:

It’s just right for a gaming device to have an impressive screen quality. With the realme 13+ 5G’s 6.67-inch AMOLED display, you’ll get what you paid for and more. The display is fluid and vivid, thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate alongside other nice-to-haves like an FHD+ resolution, HDR10+ support, and up to 2,000 nits peak brightness. With these at play, you’re assured of an immersive gaming experience and a delightful binge-watching session.

The bezels on the realme 13+ 5G aren’t that noticeable especially with a smartphone case on. This somehow gives an illusion of an all-screen look, save for a punch hole notch for the front camera.

PERFORMANCE:

Underneath the realme 13+ 5G is a Dimensity 7300 Energy 5G chipset which works alongside a combination of a 26GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. These power the realme 13+ 5G to handle multiple demanding apps at the same time without any lags and stutters.

Gaming is also a walk in the park for the realme 13+ 5G. We were able to play common mobile gaming titles like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Genshin Impact, and Call of Duty Mobile seamlessly even with maximized graphics and audio settings.

realme also equipped the realme 13+ 5G with a number of gaming optimization features including the GT Mode initially available on the brand’s flagship realme GT smartphone lineup. Even with intense gaming sessions, we never experienced heating up on the realme 13+ 5G. That’s because the device carries a Stainless Steel Vapor Chamber Cooling System designed to keep things cool.

Perhaps one thing we can mention as a downer on the realme 13+ 5G is its bloatware. There’s a lot of pre-installed apps which are mostly games. 

CAMERAS:

Photos captured using the realme 13+ 5G’s main 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 camera appear with the right amount of details. Colors are vivid but not too saturated, and sharpness levels aren’t rough. Even indoor and nighttime  photography — which is commonly a weakness for most mid-range smartphones — is impressive with the realme 13+ 5G. 

Video quality on the realme 13+ 5G is decent, too. The device has a built-in OIS which means shaky videos aren’t a problem.
