A 15-inch central touchscreen display is standard. The cloud-connected infotainment system can be updated over the air and has navigation and audio streaming built in. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not supported, however.

A sleek and elegant exterior design, the Tesla Model Y is inoffensive and stylish. Base models ride on 19- or 20-inch wheels while the Performance trim gets 21s.

Although Tesla claims the Model Y is a capable SUV, it’s no off-roader. At most it has only 6.8 inches of ground clearance, and all-wheel drive in the upper trims isn’t enough reason to venture off the beaten path.

The Tesla Model Y Performance can gain 151 miles for every 15 minutes on a Tesla Supercharger; the AWD Long Range gains 163 miles and the entry-level RWD model adds 170 miles with 15 minutes of charge.
