Countries in Africa Where It Snows:

South Africa

In South Africa, the Drakensberg Mountains are a popular destination for those looking to experience snow. The winter season, from June to August, transforms these mountains into a winter wonderland, attracting tourists for sledding and snow photography. While snowfall in major cities like Johannesburg is rare, it does happen occasionally.

Morocco

Snow in Morocco is mainly seen from December to February in the northern Rif and Atlas Mountains. The snowfall here is not an annual guarantee, making it an unpredictable but exciting phenomenon. Tanzania

Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is the only place in the country where snow is found. Despite other regions experiencing colder weather suitable for sweaters and boots, it is the summit of Kilimanjaro that sees real snowfall, particularly during its dry season from mid-June to October, with December often being the snowiest month.

Uganda

The Rwenzori Mountains in Uganda are another African location where snow is found. The peaks of these mountains are consistently cold and often covered in snow and glaciers, attracting hikers who are eager to trek to the summits or those who prefer to admire the snowy caps from a distance.

Lesotho

Known for having some of the highest mountains in Africa, Lesotho experiences significant snowfall during the winter months of June to August. The temperatures in these high-altitude areas frequently drop to around 0 degrees Celsius, creating perfect conditions for snow each year.
