Arsenal has struggled to score goals in recent weeks with Mikel Arteta’s side failing to find the back of the net in three of the last four games.
Strikers are generally placed in squads to come up with the goals but at Arsenal, the heavy reliance on Kai Havertz hasn’t really worked out and the goals have dried up as well. Gabriel Jesus hasn’t been any better, scoring just one goal in his last 25 games, which is very atrocious for a player with No. 9 at the back of his jersey.
In Arsenal’s latest loss to Internazionale, Arsenal had loads of possession and couldn’t do anything meaningful with it, and if the club had a prolific center forward, the outcome would have been different, as that forward would have finished one of the big chances created on the night.
One striker that has been on the prowl is Viktor Gyokeres that has been on absolute fire, with his latest act being an unprecedented hat-trick in Sporting CP’s demolition of Manchester City in the Champions League.
Arsenal favorites to sign Viktor Gyokeres
According to GiveMeSport, the Gunners are looking to agree a deal to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres in January. The Swedish forward has been on fire this season and he has backed it up with goal after goal on a consistent basis.
Everyone is expecting Gyokeres to join Ruben Amorim to Manchester United, but Arsenal received a huge boost when the player stated that he wants Champions League football, which is something he can’t get at Manchester United. Arsenal are challenging for the Premier League title and adding a sensational striker like Gyokeres will aid the team’s cause, as he would be expected to walk straight into the first team and will be odds on to bang the ball into the net week in week out.
