Axel Disasi makes Marc Guiu claim after he scores first Chelsea goal in the Conference League
There were so many positives to take from Chelsea’s emphatic 8-0 win over Noah on Thursday night, including Marc Guiu’s first goal for the club.
Chelsea thrashed Noah at Stamford Bridge yesterday to stay top of the group stage phase in the Conference League.
Marc Guiu, 18, was promoted to the Blues starting line-up for a rare start this season. He rewarded Enzo Maresca’s trust by scoring the second goal in an eight-goal thriller.
The Spanish centre-forward capitalised on some poor defending to steal possession before providing a calm side-footed finish past the goalkeeper.
Guiu was linked with leaving Chelsea on loan in the summer, but he ended up staying with the first-team squad. His game time has been limited because of competition from Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku for the central striker position, but this week should give him a significant lift.
Axel Disasi reacts to Marc Guiu’s first Chelsea goal
Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, who scored himself versus Noah, singled out young teammate Guiu for praise after Thursday’s win.
“Marc scored his first [Chelsea] goal, so it’s good for him. He’s a young talent, and I hope that this goal will bring him confidence, and he will try to work harder to score more goals,” Disasi told TNT Sports.
Chelsea were really impressed by Guiu in the summer during pre-season, where he quickly made a positive impact following his arrival from Barcelona. Unfortunately, his debut season with the Blues is proving to be a challenge because of the stiff competition for places.
It feels like this week was a big moment for him when scoring his first Blues goal because it’s what attackers feed off.

Marc Guiu statistics against Noah
Guiu lead the line for Chelsea against Noah and impressed during a first-half where the hosts went 6-0 in front. The Spanish frontman was substituted off at half-time as Maresca opted for changes, but he certainly made the most of his minutes on the pitch.
Fotmob data has provided the individual statistics from Guiu’s individual performance versus Noah:
Guiu is still incredibly raw compared to Chelsea attackers Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, but it would be good to see him get more minutes in the cups moving forward.
Guiu claimed in the summer he’s ready to play in the Premier League, but it feels like his first year in English football is a learning one where he’ll need to be patient.
