A bloke turned himself into a human inferno after a Bonfire Night stunt went wrong. The video went viral on social media showing a man with a firework in his mouth, who then lights it. We have no idea why he decided to do this, but he does appear to have a pint glass of some kind in his hand.

And while the rocket’s wooden stick that should have been planted firmly in the ground was in his mouth – something we would never advocate – he lit the fuse only for all hell to break loose. The two-second clip, seen by nearly one million people on Twitter/X, shows sparks flying into the bloke’s face as it appears to get covered in soot as he flinches backwards in pain.

He then drops the firework from his mouth as it flies off. A voice can be heard screaming, while another bloke shouts “go on, son.” A still of the video at the exact moment the powerful sparks fly into his face show him looking in serious pain, as molten sparks lash at his skin.

The person and location have not been made clear, but the bloke was given several choice nicknames on social media. One called him “d**khead of the year,” while another said he was giving “Marv from Home Alone vibes”.

Another said he “seemed like a bright spark,” while a fourth joked that he “won’t need to shave for a while”. And making a semi-serious point, another posted: “I’d like to ban non-regulated fireworks displays; but then, year in, year out, we would be deprived of village idiots doing things that most wouldn’t think of doing…”

The Daily Star doesn’t feel like it needs to warn of the obvious dangers, however just in case you’re thinking of emulating it . . . please don’t. And if you are the bloke in the video, let us know.
