A loving father was devastated when her little daughter was refused permission to take the KCSE examinations. According to the distraught father, her baby daughter’s Down syndrome prevented her from entering the school’s gate.
The Bungoma parent made an unsuccessful attempt to get his daughter to take her test, even though he met with a few government representatives!
Following the denial of his daughter’s request to take the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam, a parent in Bungoma County is furious.
The old guy came to the school to find out why his little girl was not allowed to take her national test. As his daughter had bitterly informed him, the school entrance was padlocked when he arrived.
When he questioned the watchman about why the gate was closed, the guard informed him that the school administration had given him strict orders.
He did, however, unlock the gate for me, and I entered. The deputy principle, with whom I had met, pushed me away, claiming that the tests were about to begin.
He refused to talk about my kid when I asked, but he did show me the gate. The government official instructed the irate father to bring him the evaluation documents from the physicians on the candidate’s health, when he went to the sub-county director of education to report the situation.
On Monday, November 4, when he would meet with the official once again, the father was instructed to drop his daughter off at school.
Later, he called to let me know that the county director of education would see me in his place as he would not be able to. He informed me when we first met that my daughter would not be able to take her final secondary education tests this year.
He informed me that I would have followed up sooner,” he said, adding that he had informed the police about the situation.
According to the father, the family discovered the illness when his daughter was two years old. Since the girl was not at her worst, the family was dissuaded from enrolling her in a school for those with disabilities.
Her speaking is her sole weakness. She is unable to construct coherent sentences. Writing her name is a problem since her speech has been worse since she started school.
