The Charlotte Hornets suffered a new injury blow, as Miles Bridges injured his knee during their thrilling 108-107 victory against the Detroit Pistons on Friday evening.

According to the team’s latest press release , the former No. 12 pick is listed as out against the Indiana Pacers on November 8 and will be re-evaluated in two weeks after sustaining a bone bruise in his right knee.

The injury further compromises Charlotte’s depth because they’re already without centers Mark Williams and Nick Richards . According to Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer, Taj Gibson, Tidjane Salaun , Grant Williams, and two-way player Moussa Diabate will play more minutes because of the team’s injury situation.

Miles Bridges is in the first year of his three-year, $75 million extension he signed with the Charlotte Hornets this offseason. He has played (and started) all eight games for the team this year, averaging 14.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game on 39.2 percent shooting from the field.

Charlotte Hornets will rely heavily on LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller

With Miles Bridges facing a spell on the sidelines, the Charlotte Hornets will need LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller to carry the team to overcome their uneven 3-5 start and hopefully qualify for their first playoffs since the 2015-16 season.

LaMelo Ball is averaging 28.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game on 46.2 percent shooting from the field and 39.4 percent from three-point range.

Brandon Miller is back after a four-game absence due to a hip injury. The sophomore guard averages 12.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.
