Chelsea showed their superiority over Armenian side Noah, as the Blues recorded an 8-0 win in this Conference League fixture.
The work was already completed at half-time, as Chelsea ended the first half against Noah with a 6-0 lead.
Goals from Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Axel Disasi, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Joao Felix (brace) all came in before the break.
Chelsea set a massive record in the process, as the Blues secured the biggest first-half lead for an English club in a European competition since the 1976-77 UEFA Cup, when Derby County scored nine goals against Finn Harps.
Blues boss Enzo Maresca sent a message of focus to his players after the game.
“In the first five minutes, we conceded a chance. You have to be focused,” he remarked, emphasizing the need for Chelsea to maintain concentration from the very beginning of every game.
Maresca also stressed the importance of respecting their opponents, no matter the scoreline or perceived differences in quality.
“The way to show respect to them, don’t underestimate them. Football is full of these kind of surprises,” he warned, alluding to the unpredictable nature of the sport.
