Chelsea Predicted XI Vs Arsenal: Cole Palmer Starts; Jadon Sancho On The Bench

Chelsea face a tough test this weekend as they welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge as they aim to bounce back after dropped points last weekend.

The Blues drew 1-1 with Manchester United on Sunday last week where goals from Bruno Fernandes and Moises Caicedo helped both teams to share the points.

However, during the week, Chelsea won 8-0 against Armenian side FC Noah in the Europa Conference League which has given the Blues a perfect start to the competition after three matches.

They face an Arsenal side on Sunday who have struggled recently and are winless in their last three Premier League games. They lost 1-0 to Newcastle last time out before another 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta will be desperate to get the better of Enzo Maresca on Sunday and re-charge the Gunners’ title fight. Whereas Chelsea will be keen to put any Arsenal hopes of a Premier League title this season to bed.

Marc Cucurella joins Chelsea defence

LB – Marc Cucurella – The former Brighton man comes in for Malo Gusto who was booked last weekend, he will have a tough challenge against Bukayo Saka.

CB – Levi Colwill – The performances for Colwill have been impressive so far this season as he has cemented his place in the Blues’ back line.

CB – Wesley Fofana – This spot is contended between Fofana and Tosin Adarabioyo, but we have Maresca picking Fofana here.

RB – Reece James – James will likely avoid coming up against Bukayo Saka which will please the England international.

Cole Palmer fit enough to start in midfield

CDM – Romeo Lavia – The 20-year-old has been superb this season and has handed himself the starting spot over Enzo Fernandez.

CDM – Moises Caicedo  – He scored last weekend against Manchester United and has been fantastic all season.

CAM – Cole Palmer – The England international was a doubt for Sunday’s game due to a knee injury but he should be ready to play.

Unchanged Chelsea attack

LW – Noni Madueke – Madueke was selected for Lee Carsley’s final England squad ahead of Thomas Tuchel taking over the role.

RW – Pedro Neto – Jadon Sancho is a doubt for the game on Sunday, so Neto will likely get the start as his fitness is better.

ST – Nicolas Jackson – Chelsea’s second-top scorer behind Palmer will be looking to add his 7th goal of the season.
