Club want at least €25m for ‘super jewel’ targeted by West Ham – Can help financial issues ‘vanish’
Hertha Berlin would welcome a bid from West Ham United for ‘super jewel’ Ibo Maza if the Hammers decide to move for him.
That’s according to Berliner Kurier, who report that the 18-year-old could help the Bundesliga club get out of serious financial trouble.
Reports in England over the last few weeks have linked West Ham with a move for Maza as the 18-year-old makes a positive impression at Hertha Berlin.
The belief is that they want to take the attacking midfielder to the London Stadium in the January transfer window and there has been talk of a €25m bid.
Hertha would struggle to reject such a bid, and their directors have made it clear that is the figure they want if the bidding were to open officially.
That’s because the club are short of cash despite undertaking ‘brutal austerity measures’ to try and help their financial issues. €25m would ‘vanish’ many of their financial worries in one fell swoop.
They see Maza as their capital insurance and if West Ham were to offer such a figure, then they wouldn’t be turning it down.
The 18-year-old ‘doesn’t seem reluctant’ to make the move either so the door is very much open, if West Ham are willing to pay.
