DDG Comes To Ex Halle Bailey’s Defense Amid Drama Over Bringing Son Halo On Livestream: ‘I Don’t Care If People Think She Wrong Or Not’
Breakup or not, DDG is still coming to the defense of Halle Bailey on social media.
A little over a month after DDG announced their split, Bailey publicly called out her ex-boyfriend for bringing their 9-month-old son, Halo, to appear on a livestream without asking her.
“I wasn’t told or notified and i am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people,” she wrote on X before deactivating her account. “I am his mother and protector and saddened that i wasn’t notified especially when i am out of town.”
Halle got a lot of backlash for this, with many fans insisting that this is a situation that should have been handled privately. Bailey responded to the criticism very swiftly, agreeing that she might have “overreacted” and insisting she’s never concerned about Halo’s safety when he’s with his father.
“Yesterday maybe i did overreact and shouldn’t have brought it here,” The Little Mermaid star wrote. “I know that halo is always safe with his dad. i just don’t like finding out with the rest of the world what my baby is doing.”
On Thursday, Nov. 7, DDG posted a Youtube video coming to Halle’s defense, insisting that he won’t stand for anyone bullying his ex-girlfriend.
“One thing I don’t like what people do, I don’t like when people hate on Halle,” the Youtuber-turned-rapper said. “I don’t care if people think she wrong or not, or if I think she wrong or right.”
He continued: “She could be going through something mentally after having a kid that I can’t understand as a man. So when situations like this happen, I try to handle it with as much grace as possible because Halo needs her, I need her, we need each other to create a childhood that’s safe and fun and memorable for him.”
The rapper went on to call Halo “the biggest blessing” in his life, saying that he doesn’t even “remember what life was like” before his son was born.
“And I wouldn’t have him if it wasn’t for Halle, and for that reason alone, I got unconditional love and respect for her,” he concluded.
