DJT’s first term ended in disaster. This one will too.

One of the aspects of the last election that is so mind-boggling is the absence of discussion as too why DJT was not re-elected in 2020. The media, the Democratic party, and even progressive groups mentioned almost nothing about COVID. Yet, arguably the great orange ass would have been POTUS for another term if he had handled the pandemic better. Part of my academic work is in disease surveillance, and any clear-eyed analysis of how the first months of the transmission of the disease to the US suggests that with appropriate response on the part of POTUS and the federal government, hundreds of thousands of Americans could have lived. But what, we pretend that last year of his tenure did not happen? Unfortunately yes, and the consequences we now face are dire.

Forgive me if I do not go into greater detail here on my statements above, but the point I want to make is that this outcome is fully consistent with orangie’s way of dealing with unpleasant information — ignore it (or maybe apply the wrong yet simplistic bandage). Well, guess what? Something equally awful to COVID (or worse) is bound to occur in the next four years due to climate change or global overpopulation or technology or?? And I guarantee orangie will fail us once again.

For now, all I can do is cry. I will get mad later.
