Donald Trump makes historic appointment following election victory

President-elect Donald Trump has named his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, as his White House chief of staff, marking his first significant appointment following his election victory.

In a statement, Trump praised Wiles as “tough, smart, innovative,” and noted her universal respect and admiration.

According to Vanguard, he also highlighted her historic appointment as the first female chief of staff in U.S. history.

Wiles, 67, a Florida native, played a crucial role in running a more disciplined campaign operation compared to Trump’s previous run.

She was seen on stage with Trump during his election night celebration but notably refrained from speaking, making her the only individual not to address the crowd.

Wiles is the daughter of the late sportscaster Pat Summerall.

During Trump’s first term, the White House saw considerable turnover in the role of chief of staff, with four individuals, including one acting chief, holding the position.

Wiles’ appointment is seen as a significant step in Trump’s second administration, as she is expected to bring stability to his administration after the personnel changes of the first term.

Trump’s decision to appoint Wiles follows a successful campaign, and her appointment as chief of staff signals her continuing importance in shaping the direction of his presidency as he moves into his second term.
