Echos of the past has a few puzzles that can stump players in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. While many puzzles are short and easy, this puzzle can be complicated because of the hidden items. The crystals needed to open the doors are hidden in the area, making it a pain to try and open. You can find them quickly and easily once you know where they are.

Once you have found each crystal and placed them in their respective area, you’ll move on to the next part of the quest. You will get one puzzle after the other quickly, but each puzzle pops up in different areas. There are three total, and each gets far more complicated than the last. This feels like a scavenger hunt, like finding the wolf statuettes in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

How To Find The First Set Of Crystals

Solve The Easiest Puzzle

You’re going to need two crystals for this first puzzle of Echoes of the Past in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. This puzzle is there to teach the basic concept of how this puzzle goes. Bellara, a romanceable companion in DA: The Veilguard, will be at the door trying to open it. This leaves you to find the two crystals. Don’t worry; these two are nearby, which is the easy part of the quest.

Go to the far side of the room, the south edge; you’ll see the second crystal next to a table. Bring it back and place it in a crystal spot next to Bellara. Then, start from where Bellara is standing and then go to the portal on the wall opposite you. It will show a Halla statue past the barrier. To the left of that barrier is a crystal. Pick it up and move it to the open Crystal spot. This will open the doors to the next area.

How To Find The Second Set Of Crystals

Solve The Medium Difficulty Puzzle

You’re going to need three crystals for the second puzzle of Echoes of the Past in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. This is a little more complicated because the crystals aren’t obviously seen. They are both well hidden in the area, and trying to find them can be annoying. Luckily, they’re not far away from the door, they’re just hidden close by. Once you grab either, just head back to the Bellara to place them in their spots.

To find the first crystal, head to the ladder right next to the next passageway. Climb up all the way to the top and then follow the wooden path to the next crystal. Once you see it, grab it and head back to Bellara, placing it on any of the crystal spots. The second crystal will be close by in the western corner with all the boxes and shrubbery. Destroy the boxes, and you’ll see it was hidden away in that area.

Once you’ve taken the crystal back to Bellara, you can finally find the last one. The final crystal is on the west side of the room, next to the golden door. Head up what looks like a broken ledge-turned-staircase near it to find the final crystal. This crystal will be next to some larger inactive crystals. Take it and return it to Bellara.

How To Find The Third Set Of Crystals

Solve The Hardest Puzzle

You only need two crystals on this last puzzle of Echoes of the Past in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. They will not be as easy to find as the others because they require thinking through ways to get to them. However, you won’t need special abilities; knowing where to go and what to do is enough. To find the first crystal, turn to the left of where Bellara is. You’re going to see one of the two crystals across a chasm. Run along the rail until you see a wooden pole. Interact with it to kick it and make a bridge to the other side. Next, turn to the right and go up the nearby ladder. Once you’re at the top, you’ll find the first crystal you need. Jump down, but do not place it in the spot next to Bellara yet.

While you normally place your crystal in the spot once you find it, this crystal is used to find the other one.

You’re going to use this crystal to get the next one. Go back to where you saw the crystal to see a spot to place this crystal in. Once it is placed, a bridge will appear, allowing you to get to this new crystal. Grab the new crystal and place it with Bellara, then go back and grab the first crystal you found and place it with Bellara.

Once that is done, Bellara will leave the area and go back outside. She’ll let you know that she has come to a conclusion and will let you know about her brother. It’s a really heartfelt scene, but the puzzles will be done, and you’ll have finished the Echoes of the Past puzzle in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
