Emmerdale star James Moore has hinted that he secretly married his girlfriend two years after they got engaged.
James – who plays Charity Dingle’s son Ryan Stocks on the ITV soap – proposed to Sophie Edwards in May 2022.
The 32-year-old announced their engagement on Instagram, sharing several sweet selfies of the couple.
The duo beamed as they posed with their cat and Sophie showed off her ornate ring.
James captioned the post: ‘We got engaged!!!! (ft our cat).’
The soap star has since hinted that they have tied the knot by changing his Instagram bio to ‘Husband to Sophie Edwards.’
He also updated his relationship status on Facebook, according to OK!
The actor changed his bio from ‘in a relationship’ to ‘married’ and tagged Sophie in the post.
Sophie has changed her surname to Moore.
Back in September, James – who joined Emmerdale in 2018 – revealed they would be getting married in two months.
He posted a snap of them posing with their wedding rings on Instagram after getting them made.
James wrote: ‘Can’t believe that it’s less than two months until me and Soph get married!!
‘Time has only flown so quickly, but I like to think that we are well prepared. We made our wedding rings last week and it felt so special and unique and was another reminder that I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my favourite person.’
Last June, the TV star celebrated their four-year anniversary with a heartfelt social media post.
He shared several smiling selfies of the couple and penned: ‘4 years today with my favourite person, my partner, my best friend and now my fiancée too!!
‘I’m so lucky and grateful for everything that you do, looking out for me and always being there for everything!!
‘I love you so much and I can’t wait to marry you next year.’
James has ataxic cerebral palsy, the same disability his character Ryan has.
He made history in 2019 when he became the first disabled winner of a National Television Award, picking up the Best Newcomer gong.
He told the Daily Mirror days after his win that he had been about to quit acting when he landed the Emmerdale gig as he was told there were no roles for him.
He said: ‘You have to have belief and confidence in yourself and not rely on the acceptance of others.
‘I’m loving what I am doing. I’m getting great feedback from people, I’ve won this wonderful award – and I am living my best life.’
James revealed he’d dreamed of becoming an actor since a young age and even studied drama at school, but was told repeatedly there would be no parts for him.
After giving up on his dream – and studying photography at university – it was an episode of Breaking Bad, which featured Walter White’s son played RJ Mitte who also has cerebral palsy, that convinced him to give acting another try.
‘I thought ”Oh my God there is hope,”’ he recalled.
Just two weeks after signing an agent, James landed the role of Ryan Stocks and immediately took centre stage as the long-lost son of Charity Dingle.
