Enzo Maresca delighted with how Chelsea youngster played in 8-0 Conference League win vs Noah

Chelsea made it three wins from three in the Conference League group stages in emphatic fashion last night against Noah.

The Blues ran out 8-0 winners despite the fully-changed squad by Enzo Maresca from their Premier League exploits a few days earlier.

A number of their players looked really hungry to prove a point to the manager that they should be given more chances as a starter.

Mykhailo Mudryk certainly made his case for a start against Arsenal. He scored the pick of the goals as the Blues ran riot in West London.

Enzo Maresca really impressed by Tyrique George

Maresca was also able to turn to a number of youngsters in what was always going to be a comfortable game for Chelsea, handing Tyrique George his first start for the club.

Chelsea fans were impressed by George, who looked a constant threat and perhaps should have walked away with at least an assist at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca highlighted the youngster for praise after the game, saying he dealt with the situation of his first senior start extremely well.

He said to Football London: “I think he was very good. I said before the game, probably with young players, sometimes it is better to tell them the day before so they can prepare but with some of them, tell them at the end so they don’t get nervous.

“The plan with Tyrique, we knew already he was going to start but I told him just two hours before the game. I think he was very good. Also, Sam Rak-Sakyi was very good.

“I’m very happy for Marc Guiu, in the end he scored. He hasn’t got many minutes with us this season but he is working hard. They are all 18, 17, 19 – it’s important.”

More opportunities to come for George

Chelsea have already mathematically confirmed their place in the next round of the competition, however will no doubt be looking to continue their dominance in their final three group games.

There are likely to still be many opportunities for youngsters to make their mark on the side, and George will have put himself at the front of that queue for the coming games.

The likes of Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto are likely to be rested where possible due to their involvement in Premier League games, and this will offer the Englishman a lot of chances to show he should be in line for more involvement in the coming months as a whole.
