Escape to the Chateau star Angel Adoree has been flooded with support after breaking down in tears during an emotional return to the UK. The Channel 4 favourite has been back in Britain touring the country with Dick Strawbridge as part of their live tour.
The pair, joined by kids Dorothy and Arthur, have returned from France and are currently entertaining fans with their podcast. “It was interesting because having had everybody in the dressing room beforehand, we have a quiet sort of interval didn’t we?” Dick, 65, recalled on a recent episode.
Angel responded: “Yeah we did, and that’s a first. Considering we were in the hometown, it was unheard of. But I think the thing was to get everyone backstage, by the time they would have been there for halftime, they would have been straight back again.”
“It was interesting. So, mum was there and you know what, I just loved that I could see her,” the former army officer said. “I could see her smiling, surrounded by people she knew.” Angel replied: “Yeah, your mum had that sparkle in her eyes and you and your mum having a little drink together – oh, it made me cry!”
She went on: “Literally, I was sobbing and I had all the makeup on. We had some lovely photographs together, lovely memories. Arthur was busy just getting everyone a drink. It was one of the memories that I just think will be one of the stand-out memories.”
The family became household names when they starred in Channel 4’s Escape to the Chateau, a series which followed the family of four when they transformed their lives by moving to a French chateau. Their children Arthur and Dorothy still accompany their parents on their various adventures, with the youngsters recently joining Adoree, 46, and Strawbridge, 65, on their UK tour.
