God of War Ragnarok Players on PS5 Can Finally Tone Down Puzzle Hints in Game Version 06.00
Oh boy.
Sony Santa Monica has finally released Patch 6 for the PlayStation 5 version of God of War Ragnarok that tones down companion puzzle hints (and adds PS5 Pro support).
Game version 06.00 is now live and, according to a blog post, includes a handful of bug fixes alongside the gameplay upgrades added in the PC version of God of War Ragnarok six weeks ago. These are, most notably, the addition of audio descriptions and the aforementioned ability to reduce companion puzzle hints.
Though 2022’s God of War Ragnarok was incredibly well received, selling a whopping 11 million copies in less than three months and earning a 10/10 in IGN’s review, one gripe players had was with companions throwing out puzzle solutions before players had a chance to solve them themselves.

the PS5 Pro support for God of War Ragnarok comes the reduced puzzle hints, but these are available in all versions of the game and not just on Sony’s $699.99 console.
Features exclusive to that behemoth include the ability to run the Favor Quality mode at 60 frames per second, compatibility with PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, and more. The full patch notes are available below.
Sony Santa Monica made clear it was aware of the frustration with companion hints way back in February 2023, with narrative director Matt Sophos saying “the timing for the first hint was too aggressive and should have had a much longer countdown timer before something comes up.” It has finally addressed the issue after 21 months.
In IGN’s God of War Ragnarok review, we said: “God of War Ragnarok is an almighty achievement and creates a new high that makes many of its peers look mortal by comparison.”
