Historic Yucatan World Cup of Tennis – Channel 13 Mexico

In an unprecedented event in the history of the tournament, the lists for the 37th edition of the Yucatan World Cup of Tennis were officially closed with the 46 tennis players who would directly enter the main draw of each branch located among the 100 best on the planet, in a tournament to take place from November 25 to December 1, at the Country Club.
On this occasion, just over 300 players registered, of which only 64 will be able to enter the qualification draws. Representatives from 60 countries stand out, with 9 within the “top ten”.
Among the confirmed elements of that select group are Luca Preda, from Romania, number 6 in the youth ranking of the International Tennis Federation, who will serve as the first seed, and the Czech Maxim Mvra, just below seventh in the world.
Regarding the women’s branch, the 4th in the world stands out, Iva Jovic, from the United States, and Wakana Sonove, from Japan, ranked sixth.
The Yucatán World Cup has a J500 grade, the highest level for a junior tournament. There are only 10 events of this level on the entire planet.
A week before the Yucatecan tournament, the J300 (formerly Grade 1) in Guadalajara will be played, while after the contest in Mérida, the winter tour will continue with the Eddie Herr and the Orange Bowl, both in Florida.
