How Luis Guilherme is actually performing in West Ham training

There was a real case to make that West Ham won the transfer window in the summer.

Indeed, at the time, it looked like the Hammers had done some brilliant business.

They signed Jean-Clair Todibo despite the fact Manchester United wanted Todibo, while Luis Guilherme was an exciting young signing from Brazil.

Unfortunately, though, West Ham have had a really slow start to the season.

Indeed, the Hammers sit firmly in the bottom half of the Premier League, and their performances this term have been drab to say the least.

Speaking on the Premier League All Access Podcast, Alex Crook has been discussing Guilherme’s start to life at West Ham, and he says that the £25m man isn’t even impressing in training.

Luis Guilherme not impressing in West Ham training

Crook shared what he’s been hearing about the winger at West Ham.

The journalist says that West Ham are far from impressed by the South American’s performances both on the pitch and in training.

“I think serious questions are being asked about Tim Steidten and his recruitment, particularly of Niclas Fullkrug, who we’re still yet to really see in a West Ham shirt, and Guilherme as well.”

“I think they’re not overly impressed with what he’s done so far, either on the pitch when he’s been there or in training. So it’s a big game. It’s not just a big game for Lopetegui, actually, because I think Sean Dyche is going to come under the microscope.”

Who else did West Ham sign this summer?

On the surface, this summer transfer window looked like a brilliant window for West Ham.

However, it really hasn’t gone to plan so far.

Overall, West Ham made a number of signings that looked to be smart in the summer, but things haven’t worked out so far.

West Ham signings this summer Fee
Crysencio Summerville £25m
Max Kilman £40m
Niclas Fullkrug £27m
Luis Guilherme £25m
Aaron Wan-Bissaka £15m
Guido Rodriguez Free transfer
Wes Foderingham Free transfer
Jean-Clair Todibo Loan
Carlos Soler Loan

Guido Rodriguez has been heavily criticised for his performances so far this season, while Fullkrug has barely played.

Meanwhile Crysencio Summerville isn’t getting the gametime he perhaps envisioned either.

Julen Lopetegui is now under serious pressure at West Ham, and if his team don’t start performing soon, he could quickly be out the door at the London Stadium.
