How Trump’s grandchildren channeled Republican red ‘brand’

The youngest members of the controversial President Elect’s family channeled ‘Brand Trump’ with All-American prep fashion, as they sported blazers and chinos following the controversial politician’s shocking landslide victory this week, a stylist has revealed.

The former real estate tycoon’s grandchildren projected a ‘united’ front as they made nods to Republican image with red hues and business-casual ensembles.

The parents dressing their kids seemed to make a statement with how they opted to style their little ones, putting out an image of classic USA-style slacks and ties.

‘Seeing Donald Trump on the election stage with his family including his grandchildren showed a united family,’ fashion expert Lisa Talbot told FEMAIL.

‘There was a range of styles of clothing. The more informal, smart-casual style of blazers, chinos and trainers helps the American public relate to them more, it makes them feel like they are “one of us”.’

These were sported by the youngest members in the clan, namely Tristan, 13, Spencer, 12, and Chloe Trump, 10 – Don Jr and Vanessa Haydon’s three youngest children.

Tristan and Spencer wore navy and beige trousers with relaxed black blazers and button-up shirts.

Both were also sporting patterned ties, but to add a more laid-back look akin to something more easily worn as a child, also had white trainers.

Their sister meanwhile was put in a red striped dress, which was marked with navy stripes, and some sandals.

The more easy-going ensembles are ‘correct for the younger members,’ Lisa added, ‘not making them appear to be something they are not’.

‘They are young children in a very unusual setting,’ she explained. ‘But representative of the occasion.’

The simple styles are available everywhere from George at Asda to M&S in the UK, meaning they’re universally appropriate attire for kids.

However, the stylist said that the older male grandchildren were ‘more businesslike’ with their suits.

Donald Trump III, 15, Don Jr and Vanessa’s eldest son, was his grandfather’s mini-me as they wore matching black suits and Republican red ties.

Meanwhile, the politician’s youngest son, Barron, 18, towered behind his father in a suit and a striped tie with an American flag pin on the lapel.

‘Wearing a suit is more business like but they have played with the colour of their tie to inject a more relaxed side and to add in the election colours so keeping “on brand”,’ Lisa said.

‘We still have to take into consideration that they are “Brand Trump”, very much like Donald Trump has worn a red cap throughout his campaigning,’ she revealed.

‘Many voters followed suit and wore one also.’

Lisa said the ensemble was ‘simple, stylish and elegant for a young lady’.

‘Personally, as a stylist I think younger members of a family attending a more formal occasion can be smart-casual whilst still fitting in with the occasion,’ the expert added.

‘So they can enjoy and still be conscious of their environment.’

After a landslide victory in the 2024 election, Donald Trump’s family and closest allies joined him on stage for his victory speech.

But two important Trump family members were missing from a photo posted by Donald’s granddaughter Kai taken at the election watch party held at his Mar-a-Lago estate just hours beforehand.

The 17-year-old captioned the photo ‘the whole squad’, but soon-to-be First Lady Melania Trump was nowhere to be seen.

Kimberly Guilfoyle, Don Jr ‘s fiancée of four years, was also not pictured alongside the family despite having been appearances at several campaign stops. Kai’s mother Vanessa Haydon, who shares five kids with Don Jr, was front and center in the snap.

Elon Musk and his son, X Æ A-12, also managed to sneak into the family portrait. The Tesla billionaire became a vocal MAGA fan and one of Trump’s biggest financial backers during the election. His social media platform X also become an unofficial Republican Party campaign tool.

These are the people – along with some other household names who have rallied to his side during the campaign for presidency – who will take major roles in his administration for the next four years.

Elsewhere, when Trump took the stage on Tuesday night to declare victory in the presidential race, his daughter Ivanka drew eyeballs with her choice of outfit.

Ivanka, 43, decided to wear a royal blue velvet pantsuit to the historic moment, leading some critics to speculate that she was showing subtle support for Democrats as the Republican party color is red.

A former advisor to Trump’s first presidential term, Ivanka was notably absent from her father’s campaigning this year and refused to attend a single rally until election night.

Ivanka’s blue suit on election night saw some claim it was her way of hinting she would have preferred a Kamala Harris victory over her father, with observers questioning: ‘Of all the colors… why blue?’

Ivanka stood by her husband, investor and former Trump administration official Jared Kushner, on the stage on election night, while much of her family were placed on the other side of the platform.

Critics noted that, along with Ivanka’s blue suit, this may have been the First Daughter’s way of showing her distaste for her family’s politics.

‘Why is Ivanka Trump wearing a Democrat shade of blue? And she’s standing well away from Trump and the rest of the family…’ one observer said on X.

Ivanka was not the only one who drew scrutiny on election day with her outfit choices, with First Lady Jill Biden also choosing to wear the other side’s colors

Biden wore a bright red pantsuit on Tuesday, knowing she would be voting and speaking to swing state voters in front of a throng of cameras all day.

Many were convinced she did so to take a parting shot at Kamala Harris, who was seen as pushing Joe Biden aside and brutally casting him out of her campaign following his disastrous debate performance in June.

Ivanka was a Democrat until her dad became a Republican. Her husband Jared Kushner was too and his immediate family remain prominent Democrat donors.

President-elect Trump himself was also once a member of the liberal party but permanently switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2012.
