The 2024 edition of the Hunt The Mouse cash hunt game appears to be over as the hidden gold coin exchangeable for a life-changing S$500,000 cash appears to have been found.

Sqkii, the gamification company behind the game, announced on social media on Nov. 8 at about 8:46am that “someone may have found” the gold coin.

“We are investigating and will provide an update within the next 48 hours,” the announcement read.

The exact location was not revealed yet.

Participants anticipating the next hint at 10am were not provided with any on Friday.

Typically, daily hints about the location of the gold coin are dropped on social media at 10am, 2pm and 6pm.

The potential end of the search for the gold coin worth half a million dollars comes as the game reached the tail end of its run.

The game started at 10am on Oct. 10 and was slated to end at 10am on Nov. 9.

Sqkii also noted in its announcement that there are still silver coins worth S$500 or S$2,500 each remaining.

A total of 300 silver coins were hidden across the island.

Responses

Reactions to the news that the gold coin could have been picked up by someone on Friday morning was met with disappointment by those who have been trying unsuccessfully to locate it.

Many were keen to hear how the clues matched the exact location where the gold coin was discovered.

Some took to the comments section to mention locations they believe the gold coin was hidden at.

These locations included Bedok, Gardens By The Bay, Snow City, and Singapore Expo.

Mothership has contacted Sqkii for comment.
