We have some breaking news out of Charleston. Early this morning, JT Thomas announced his shocking resignation from the remainder of Southern Charm Season 10.
While Thomas will appear in the entire season, he revealed that he will not be participating in the remainder of his confessionals or the Season 10 reunion.
“It comes with a heavy heart to share that I have resigned from Southern Charm,” he wrote in a statement posted on Instagram. “Yesterday I informed Bravo that I will not be participating in the 2-3 remaining green room interviews remaining before [Season 10] airs [on] Dec. 5 (I’ve done about 9 thus far leading up to today) and that I no longer wish to participate in any ways moving forward with the TV show.”
Thomas added, “I will leave it at that for now … while I work on next steps to recover both physically and mentally from what has been an extremely challenging and exhausting year.”
Thomas first joined Southern Charm in Season 9 — and after getting rejected by Taylor Ann Green, he engaged in a physical altercation with Austen Kroll in the finale episode.
In this upcoming season, Madison LeCroy confirmed that Thomas was the source of drama, telling Entertainment Tonight, “We’re getting rid of him so we won’t say. I’m putting an end to it. He’s done.” Moreover, when one fan commented, “So excited that JT is back,” LeCroy savagely replied, “Said no one ever.” So, this is probably a good day for the blonde bombshell.
Thomas has also come under fire for flirting with Venita Aspen in the Season 10 trailer — which was dropped mere days before he debuted his new girlfriend (who was not Aspen) on Instagram. Plus, Southern Charm fans were shocked to hear Craig Conover tell Patricia Altschul that Thomas had allegedly called her a “bitch” in the teaser.
DECIDER has reached out to Bravo for comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
Southern Charm Season 10 premieres Thursday, Dec. 5 on Bravo.
