Liverpool FC fans were in tears as Andy Robertson issued a brutal jibe at Ibrahima Konate. The Scottish left-back, who is currently battling Kostas Tsimikas for a starting space at left-back, is known for his sense of humour off the pitch.

Meanwhile Konate has enjoyed a fine start to the season under new manager Arne Slot with his performances at centre back meaning the reds now have one of the best defences in Europe. The French defender is also known for his love of fashion.

Last month, he was spotted wearing a bright neon green mesh hood covering his head and face. He opted for a modest approach in his Instagram post yesterday, sporting an all denim shirt and trousers combination.

Konate shared four pictures of him sporting the eye-catching outfit but one image in particular stood out. It showed him in an empty bath looking out the window.

Robertson was quick to spot this, simply asking in the comments section: “Why are you in a bath?” His comment received over 4,500 likes with hundreds of fans replying with the laughing with a crying face emoji.

Many more enjoyed Robertson’s humorous comment. One fan said: “I’m asking the same question Robbo.” Another commented: “Stop it Robbo.” A third said: “You’re all of us Robbo.”

Konate overcame a wrist injury to play most of Liverpool’s last game against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday evening, whereas Robertson made an appearance off the bench. They are both in contention to play in Liverpool’s next game tomorrow night, where they will face Aston Villa.
