Magnus Onyibe, former Delta State Commissioner for Information, commented on Donald Trump’s electoral victory, viewing it as a reaffirmation of Trump’s 2020 claim of being unfairly ousted. He noted that Trump’s messages on immigration and inflation resonated more with voters than Vice President Harris’ portrayal of Trump as anti-democratic.
Onyibe described America as a country with extreme tendencies and expressed his belief that Trump represents a change aimed at “draining the swamp.” He pointed out that traditional politicians have resisted Trump and created obstacles to his return but maintained that it was clear Americans wanted Trump back.
In his words, “America is a country that exhibits extreme tendencies. I believe that Trump is that change; he has come to drain the swamp, as many politicians are saying recently in Washington. Things are going to be done differently, but those who have been resisting Trump are the traditional people who have been in charge since the U.S. was founded, and they created obstacles to his return to the White House. However, we were very consistent that he was going to make it; it was clear that Americans wanted Trump back.”
