Manchester United announce controversial fixture change that will impact Ruben Amorim

Man Utd progressed to the next round of the Carabao Cup and that has affected their fixture schedule.

United’s fixture list has been tweaked.

Manchester United’s game against Bournemouth in the Premier League next month has been rescheduled.

United were originally pencilled in to play Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Saturday, December 21, but progressed to the next round of the Carabao Cup, which forced the change.

Tottenham welcome United to the capital on Thursday, December 19 in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, which means there would have been just two days between the games.

The Premier League have now rescheduled United’s match against Bournemouth to Sunday, December 22, which will give an extra day to recover, but some fans who were planning to make a festive trip to Old Trafford have been irked by the short notice of the announcement.

Some fans who aren’t local to Manchester have made travel arrangements for the game but the fixture has been pushed back, which could leave supporters out of pocket.

Ruben Amorim begins work on Monday and will have managed eight games in charge by the time United play Bournemouth at Old Trafford, which will be played at a 14:00 GMT kick-off.

The game has not been selected for broadcast in the United Kingdom.
