Mike Tyson will fight professionally for the first time in twenty years for the lowest-priced tickets sold on his behalf in four decades.
Unfortunately for the heavyweight boxing legend, Tyson vs Jake Paul tickets remain in solid supply, with only eight days remaining until the pair trade blows.
According to official ticket partners Seatgeek, Tyson vs. Paul is on course to have thousands of empty seats on fight night. At present, the titanic-mimicking event will fall way short of the expected 70,000-plus attendance unless a miracle occurs in the next week.
As organizers aim to increase demand for the professional bout, prices have dropped massively for the rescheduled November 15 event. Reports that those steering the ship pushed back the event four months due to poor sales the first time around are now gathering steam for a second time.
Before the initial July 20 date was pushed back, Tyson vs. Paul tickets had fallen as low as $129. However, with fight week approaching, tickets are as low as $30, a humiliating twist to the initial price hike. The fall represents a 92.8 percent capitulation.
According to information gathered and passed to WBN, seats for a Mike Tyson fight haven’t been on sale for that low since 1985.
Over the past few months, Game Time has informed World Boxing News of the ticket movements.
They exclusively told WBN, “With Mike Tyson now taking on Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium in Arlington in November, Gametime [Gametime.co], the leading app/site for last-minute tickets, has released updated ticket price details for the highly-anticipated boxing match.
“Currently, the lowest-cost/get-in tickets are available for $420 each [including taxes and fees]. The day before the fight was delayed, the lowest-priced seats were $129.
“Meanwhile, top tickets to the fight are now $9,927, up from $5,522 the day before the bout was postponed.”
In August, those prices rose after renewed optimism on the new date.
“Currently, the lowest-cost/get-in tickets are available for $132 each [including taxes and fees]. That is down significantly from June [right after the fight was delayed] when the lowest-cost tickets were $420 each [including taxes and fees]. However, the top tickets to the fight are now $49,226, up from about $9,000 when the fight was postponed.
“All seats can be seen at Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Tickets on Gametime.co,” a Game Time spokesperson told World Boxing News.
In a late update in October, Gametime said, “Currently, the lowest-cost/get-in tickets are available for $91 each. That is down from $132 a month ago and $420 in July [when the fight was originally scheduled to take place]. Ringside seats are available for $2,094 each, down from over $40K earlier this year.”
Now, with no turning back, watching a Mike Tyson fight is on offer for the lowest price since before he won a world title as a teenager.
If tickets don’t pick up after the monumental price decrease, Tyson’s return is on course to bomb spectacularly and could scare Netflix off boxing for good.
