Pre-orders begin at a starting price of £32,390 (before VAT).
Nissan has just dropped a new van in the United Kingdom that’s poised to change the LCV game, and it’s got a name straight from a sci-fi movie: the Interstar. While that’s not among the most popular names in the European (and British) LCV segments, the new Interstar is a technological twin to the fully redesigned Renault Master.
Set to officially roll out on UK roads in January 2025, the Interstar is already revving up pre-orders with a starting price of £32,390 (before VAT) for the base combustion-powered model. And this isn’t your granddad’s old delivery van. Nissan‘s latest brainchild packs a suite of cutting-edge features and, most importantly, some serious adaptability for city-based businesses constantly zipping from one job to another.

In an era where European cities are cracking down on pollution, Nissan seems to have timed this launch perfectly. The Interstar-e, the zero-emissions model, is built to slide seamlessly through urban jungles and offers two battery options: a standard 40 kWh battery for short city hops, and an 87 kWh long-range pack for those with more mileage to cover. The 87 kWh model can charge to an impressive 157-mile range in half an hour at a DC fast-charging station. In other words, just enough time for a coffee and a quick Instagram scroll. For those charging at depots, the van also offers options for 22 kW or 11 kW AC charging speeds, and can fill up from nearly empty to full in just under four hours.
Not ready to jump on the electric bandwagon? Nissan’s thought of you too. The new Interstar lineup includes a range of diesel engines, using the tried-and-true 2.0-litre engine that Nissan (and Renault) fans already know well from different applications. With up to 170 PS and a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic option, these diesel models offer drivers not only power but flexibility.
And let’s not forget that Nissan is putting its money where its mouth is on reliability. Each Interstar van comes with a 5-year/100,000-mile warranty, while the electric version gets a bonus: the battery has an extended 8-year warranty.
