New Twist as Mt Kenya Leader Tells Ruto To Search For Matiangi Because He Will Help Him in This
Mount Kenya politician Mike Makarina has called on President William Ruto, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, and Inspector General Japhet Kanja to consider reconciling with former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and ex-DCI chief George Kinoti. Makarina urged Ruto to forgive the two, noting how Ruto managed to mend relations with opposition leader Raila Odinga despite past political differences. He highlighted that both Matiang’i and Kinoti had aligned with Raila’s camp during the 2022 election period.
Makarina argued that bringing Matiang’i and Kinoti back into the public sphere could bolster government effectiveness, pointing to their strong track record in law enforcement and administration. He emphasized that their skills and dedication to public service would be an asset to the current administration, suggesting that national unity and collaboration among leaders could only strengthen Kenya’s governance.
