Nitin Gadkari Receives Youtube’s Golden Button, Internet Responds With Toll Tax Jokes: ‘youtube Par Bhi Laga Do’

In recognition of the success of his videos on the online video-sharing site, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari received YouTube’s coveted ‘Golden Button’ Award on Wednesday. Ajay Vidyasagar, the Regional Director of YouTube at Google Asia Pacific, presented the award to Mr. Gadkari.

The road transport and roads minister thanked everyone and said the award was a sign of “people’s trust and support” for him. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to YouTube for acknowledging the public’s gratitude for the award.

“I’m honoured to have won the Golden Button for sharing the journey with you all—a testament to people’s faith and support! Mr Gadkari posted a video of the award ceremony on X along with the words, “Thank you, YouTube!.”

Since the pandemic, Gadkari’s YouTube channel has expanded dramatically as many individuals, including himself, have taken up new interests and endeavours. Gadkari revealed in 2021 that he receives about Rs 4 lakh a month on YouTube royalties.

“My channel’s viewership has grown, and I now receive Rs 4 lakh a month in royalties from YouTube,” he said in Bharuch while evaluating the Delhi-Mumbai Motorway project.

Gadkari started cooking during the lockdown and started giving speeches through video conferences. A sizable audience watched his remarks, which were posted to his channel and included speeches for colleges and international organisations.

A cursory look through his channel reveals a selection of his press conferences, remarks at events, interviews, and public addresses.
