Derby County midfielder Ebou Adams has been named in the Gambian national squad for their African Cup of Nations Qualifying fixtures.
Adams has made 14 appearances for the Rams in the Sky Bet Championship so far this season, playing in every game of the 2024/25 league campaign so far after making a permanent move to the club following a successful loan spell last season.
The midfielder will link up with the Scorpions’ squad on Monday 11th November ahead of crucial AFCON Qualifying matches against Comoros (Friday 15th November) and Tunisia (Monday 18th November).
The Gambia sit third in Group A, with Tunisia leading the pack after four games with seven points in a close race for qualification. Comoros are second in the group, one point behind the leaders while Gambia and Madagascar hold an equal points tally, with four each.
Adams has played over 20 times for his nation since making his debut in 2018. He featured in both of Manager Johnathan McKinstry’s Scorpions’ qualifying fixtures for the 2025 tournament: starting in a 1-1 draw against Comoros, coming on as a late substitute in a 2-1 defeat against Tunisia in and featuring in a 1-1 draw and 1-0 win in last month’s double-header with Madagascar.
