George Mwenda, the prime suspect in the tragic murder of Lillian Aluko Achieng, has been apprehended by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) after an intense manhunt lasting several weeks.

According to a statement shared by the DCI, Mwenda is believed to have been in a relationship with the late radio presenter, whose body was discovered in his Nairobi residence. Initial investigations suggest that the couple spent time together at Mwenda’s home, where an argument allegedly broke out. The confrontation escalated, leading Mwenda to fatally stab Achieng before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, Mwenda went into hiding, with his whereabouts unknown since November 1st. The DCI launched a probe and carried out a rigorous search, eventually tracking him down. After days of investigation, he was located and detained. Mwenda is currently being held at a police station, awaiting a court appearance to face charges related to the murder.
