Wafula Chebukati, born in 1961 in Bungoma County, is a respected Kenyan lawyer and public servant, best known for his role as the chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from 2017 to 2023.

He studied law at the University of Nairobi and later earned a Master’s in Business Administration. Before joining the IEBC, Chebukati founded a law firm and ran for the Saboti parliamentary seat in 2007, though he lost.
