Senate takes this move against Baltasar after firing him over his misbehave actions

Baltasar Ebang Engonga, the former Director General of Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), has been dismissed following a scandal involving explicit videos. These recordings, which reportedly show Engonga engaging in inappropriate activities with various women, have caused significant public outrage. Among those implicated in the scandal were women connected to high-ranking figures in the country.

In response, the Equatorial Guinea Senate has passed new laws to regulate the conduct of public officials, especially regarding the use of social media. Cameras have also been installed in government offices to monitor officials’ behavior. Engonga has been replaced by Zenón Obiang, who will now oversee the agency.

This incident has triggered a broader review of public officials’ ethics and accountability in the country. The government has also suspended other officials who may be linked to the scandal. This move aims to ensure integrity and prevent similar issues in the future.
