Tottenham vs. Ipswich Town lineups, predicted starting 11, team news and injuries: Can Spurs climb into top four?

Ange Postecoglou hopes to keep the good times rolling as Tottenham host promoted side Ipswich Town in London on Sunday.

Spurs have won nine of their past 12 matches across all competitions dating back to mid-September, turning around their early-season struggles and quietly becoming one of the most in-form teams in Europe. They have climbed to seventh in the league table and could find themselves in the Premier League‘s top four hunt by the end of the weekend.

They are building towards a big match against off-colour Manchester City after the international break, which could announce them as true contenders for a Champions League place. However, defeat in the Europa League at Galatasaray midweek provided a splash of cold water to indicate not all is sunshine and rainbows.

Ipswich Town are trending in the opposite direction, sitting inside the relegation zone having failed to win a single match thus far. They have managed to scrape together five draws in 10 games but have yet to emerge from a match victorious.

Tottenham vs. Ipswich Town lineups, predicted starting 11, team news

Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven avoided a long-term hamstring injury but will miss the next few weeks. The same cannot be said for Richarlison who has struggled with injuries this season and is down with a hamstring issue as well – he’s out at least until December.

Defender Cristian Romero is a doubt with a foot injury, and the status of Djed Spence is also up in the air courtesy of a groin issue.

Tottenham predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Vicario (GK) — Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Udogie — Kulusevski, Bentancur, Sarr — B. Johnson, Solanke, Son.

Out: Micky van de Ven (hamstring), Richarlison (hamstring)
Doubt: Djed Spence (groin), Cristian Romero (foot)
Suspended: None

Ipswich midfielder Kalvin Phillips is suspended after being sent off in the second half of their draw with Leicester City last time out. He will likely be replaced by Jens Cajuste who is on loan from Napoli.

Central defender Jacob Greaves has been out since mid-October with a muscle injury. They are also missing former Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe who reportedly came “very close” to losing his thumb in a freak dishwashing accident.

Ipswich Town predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Muric (GK) — B. Johnson, O’Shea, Burgess, Davis — Cajuste, Morsy — Hutchinson, Chaplin, Szmodics — Delap.

Out: Tuanzebe (hand), Greaves (hamstring)
Suspended: Phillips
