Trump: ‘The Rhetorics From The Harris Campaign Definitely Scared The Israelis’ – Richard Goldberg

A Former Deputy Chief of Staff of the White House National Security Council, Richard Goldberg has alleged that the apprehensions felt by Israeli leaders regarding a potential Harris presidency stem from a belief that it would lead to a more confrontational environment, particularly concerning Iran. He discussed the strong support for Donald Trump among Israeli voters, as reflected in recent polling.

He noted that many Israelis appreciate Trump’s policies, particularly his approach to Iran and support for Israel. He emphasized that Trump’s strategy focused on exerting maximum pressure on Iran while offering robust backing for Israel, contrasting sharply with the policies associated with Vice President Kamala Harris and the Biden administration. He criticized the past six months of U.S. policy, suggesting that it involved withholding support for Israel, imposing sanctions, and issuing executive orders that undermined Israeli interests.

He said in an interview with Fox News, ‘If you look at the polling in Israel, there was overwhelming support in polls for Trump over Harris. I think you do see some sort of appreciation for Trump’s policies towards Israel and towards the Middle East.

And it is all about maximum pressure on Iran and maximum support for Israel. And instead of a return to JCPOA, the Iran nuclear deal, withholding weapons from Israel, executive orders, and putting sanctions on Israelis the way we’ve seen the last 6 months. The rhetoric from the Harris campaign definitely scared the Israelis. And I think they feel that if she had been elected, they would have seen the crisis escalate further.”
