A social media user has shared a hack which allows you to keep your bread fresher for longer.

The user who goes under the name of @goldilocksgoods is seen taking a sheet of beeswax which she carefully wraps a loaf in. She says: “Here’s a life changing hack for storing bread“. Goldilocksgoods is seen tightly folding the beeswax paper around a loaf she fold in the corners and instructs others to: “Wrap your bread in an extra large beeswax wrap.” After her bread is wrapped up like a Christmas present she urges others to take the ‘parcel and store in a cotton bag produce bag.

She adds: “It will keep your bread fresh for ages.” One commenter wrote: “I just want to listen to you wrap bread all day.” Another poster wrote: “Wouldn’t it make the bread sticky or taste different if the wax is going on the bread…” And the poster responded: That’s a great question! It actually doesn’t, no texture, taste or smell transfers to food in our experience”

But one commenter said: “For peoples info. The wrap is Doing nothing to keep the bread fresh. A loaf only has a couple days life. And this will make zero difference to that.” Another reply said: “I tried that but it doesn’t really work… At least for me bc the bread goes dry anyway and i live alone so i cant eat that much that fast. That’s why.”

The Mirror told how another woman has been branded a “genius” for her simple yet effective bread-storage hack which has gone viral – with the genius move helping bread stay fresh for an extended period. Amid the squeeze where every penny counts, keeping your loaf from becoming stale becomes even more crucial, and Sammar Charif’s advice might just be the game-changer you need.

Gathering over 3.4 million views, the TikTok star recommended doubling up on household appliances by using the microwave as a nifty storage spot for your bread. On her profile, @sammar_, she posted: “People call me a freak when they see that I have bread in the microwave, but listen it keeps it fresh,” adding confidently, “It lasts twice as long. This [bread] expired like a week and a half ago and there’s not a teensy, incy bit of mould.”

Sammar claimed it takes her three weeks to get through a loaf thanks to this method. With Tesco stating that a loaf typically only stays fresh for two to three days, this quirky trick has captured the attention of many – with some saying they too use the microwave to thwart hungry pets.

Another viewer pointed out: “Truth! I left bread in my microwave in my holiday trailer…from last season. No mould. So soft.” Highlighting an unconventional method for bread storage. With someone else adding: “I do the same, I don’t even use the microwave for anything else,” showcasing the varied uses of the household appliance. This is so genius,” praised another TikTok user, astounded by the simple yet effective tip.
