ABUJA – USAID/State Accountability, Transparency and Effectiveness(State2State) Activity, has called for improved budgetary implementation and performance in the health, education, Water,Sanitation and Hygiene sectors in Adamawa State.
Suzanne Myada, Adamawa Team Lead, USAID State2State, made the call on Thursday in Abuja, during the Quarterly Budget Performance Hearing for Adamawa State House of Assembly and Priority Health, Education, and WASH MDAs.
Myada explained that since 2020 that State2State has been complementing the efforts of the State and Local Government Areas(LGAs) by supporting and sustaining the ongoing public financial management and other reforms and providing training, building skills and capacity of the stakeholders in the State.
She underscored the need to invest in the people through the provision of health care systems, education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene sectors, adding that the people remain the greatest resource in the State.
As the State2State Activity ends in 2025 in the State, she called on the members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and key stakeholders to take ownership of the programme, align the State’s plans with local government areas, harmonise their activities to forestall duplication and focus on development results for mutual accountability.
