VW Tayron (2025): The interior in detail

The seven-seater SUV from Wolfsburg is packed with technology and also has plenty of space

The new Tayron is now parked between the VW Tiguan and the Touareg. The new Allspace successor from Wolfsburg still has a lot in common with the Tiguan, but offers even more space and roominess with seven seats. It therefore aims to be the model for those looking for a car that meets the needs of a family. So let’s get in and take a look at all the details.

Dashboard

On the dashboard, we find a central 12.9-inch display in the base models and a 15-inch display in the higher-end trims, while the instrument panel is always 10.25 inches. The overall layout largely corresponds to that of the Tiguan, even if some details are designed differently (e.g. there is a “flap” on the dashboard that protects the digital panel from reflections).

The centre tunnel is equipped with a large shelf and two wireless charging stations, while a rotary knob controls the volume, driving modes and ambient lighting (with a choice of 10 or 30 colours, depending on the trim level).

Workmanship and materials

With the Tayron, a great deal of importance appears to have been attached to the materials and workmanship. Even the passenger side is lavishly designed, while the piano lacquer and satin-finish steel work is well executed.

In the rear, we find the same level of attention, with the addition of sun blinds integrated into the door panels.

Spaciousness and boot space

The wheelbase of 2.79 metres (10 centimetres more than the Tiguan) means even more space for rear passengers. According to Volkswagen, even five people can travel in comfort. There is slightly less space for the two seats in the third row, which are likely to be reserved primarily for children.

The boot is more than sufficient to meet the needs of a family. It ranges from 345 litres in the seven-seat configuration to 850 litres with five seats and 2,090 litres with the seats in rows two and three folded down. In the plug-in hybrid versions, the volume is reduced by around one hundred litres.
