The new Health Insurance Program by president William Ruto has continued to receive opposition from Kenyans as it has not started working weeks after it was launched. Ruto’s administration suspended the NHIF that had been working good promising Kenyans that SHI will be better.

However, weeks after its launch it has not helped anyone and patients are suffering. Wahome Thuku has come out to tell president Ruto that if he was to hold a secret ballot to ask Kenyans if they support SHI, one of the people that will vote against it will be his CS for Health. Wahome said this to tell the president how pathetic the new health insurance funding is.

“William Samoei Ruto

Mr President, if you asked Kenyans to vote YES or NO for your SHI program in a secret ballot, one of the NO votes would be from your Health CS. I don’t know her so am just guessing.” Wahome said.

Kenyans have been urging the government to move back to NHIF because it was easier to use and helped a lot of people. The Ruto administration has however said it is not moving back no matter what.
