Who is Nicole Young, ex-wife of Dr Dre, who’s being sued by his divorce therapist? The mother of the rapper and producer’s children was the beneficiary in one of Hollywood’s messiest divorces
Dr Dre is making headlines again. The rap icon, real name Andre Young, is facing a US$10 million lawsuit taken out by his former therapist, psychiatrist Dr Charles Sophy, accusing him of harassment, intimidation and stalking. According to Entertainment Weekly, Sophy – who once played peacemaker between Dre and now ex-wife Nicole Young – is reportedly so fearful that he won’t leave home without a bulletproof vest. “Nobody, absolutely nobody, should ever be subjected to this type of abusive, tormenting conduct,” Sophy’s legal team shared in a complaint filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court, as reported by ET.
Per TMZ, Dre’s team fired back, claiming the lawsuit came after the rapper, producer and actor, 59, filed a complaint with the Osteopathic Medical Board of California accusing Sophy of unprofessional behaviour. They allege that Sophy encouraged one of Dre’s children to leak family matters for financial gain.
Amid all this drama, Nicole Young’s name surfaces regularly. Dre and Young, 54, were married for 24 years before their split, which has gone down as one of the messiest and most expensive divorces in Hollywood history.
