Lisa Barlow isn’t standing for accusations from a former friend that she owes nearly half a million dollars. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star has forcefully denied the claims in a new lawsuit, calling them completely false and making it clear she’s ready to battle it out in court.

Court documents reviewed by In Touch reveal that Bart Carlson is suing Lisa for $400,000, claiming she failed to repay loans he provided from 2010 to 2018.

According to the lawsuit, Lisa and Bart were once friends and business partners, having co-owned The Silver Restaurant in Park City, Utah. They sold the restaurant in 2016, and while they kept in touch occasionally, the two eventually drifted apart and ceased all contact.

However, Lisa’s attorney insists that Bart has “concocted a fanciful tale” years later, suggesting he supposedly bankrolled Lisa and her companies with an open line of credit that had no specific terms, conditions, or repayment date.

Lisa’s legal team argues that the case is both legally unsound and filed past the statute of limitations. They emphasize that Bart’s claims relate to payments allegedly made over a decade ago and highlight his status as a business owner, asserting he should have known better than to pursue “unsound commercial practices.”

Her attorney put it bluntly: “It is simply not equitable or called for by the law to allow claims that have seemingly festered for over 10 years to be brought now.”

Despite Lisa’s motion to dismiss, the court has denied her request, meaning the case will move forward as planned. Lisa continues to vehemently deny all allegations and is prepared to fight the lawsuit, even seeking to have Bart cover her legal fees if she wins.

Lisa, a self-made business mogul, rose to fame on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, where she quickly became known for her signature mix of business savvy and unapologetic confidence.

Beyond her reality TV persona, she’s built a substantial financial empire, with a net worth estimated at around $5 million. Lisa’s fortune is rooted in her ventures in marketing and luxury brands, most notably her premium tequila company, Vida Tequila, which she co-founded and continues to promote heavily.

In addition to Vida Tequila, she has played a key role in launching and managing multiple marketing firms specializing in brand strategy and consulting. These companies have played a pivotal role in Lisa’s financial success and are now being thrust into the spotlight amid Bart Carlson’s claims. He alleges that the loans he provided helped bankroll her business ventures, sparking questions about how deeply her thriving enterprises are entangled in this high-stakes legal case.
