Chelsea insiders believe Enzo Maresca sees ‘fantastic’ player as undroppable, not Cole Palmer
Chelsea are currently blessed with a number of top quality players at their disposal every week.
You only need to look at the class they had on show during their 8-0 win in the Conference League last night. Enzo Maresca had made 11 changes to his starting XI for that game.
Cole Palmer is normally the man who steals all the headlines, and he has picked up exactly where he left off from in his sensational debut campaign.
His level has been matched by a number of other players this season though, with Moises Caicedo stepping up and putting in regular performances that prove why Chelsea smashed their transfer record to sign him.
Enzo Maresca sees Moises Caicedo as ‘undroppable’
Pundits were wowed by Caicedo’s recent display against Manchester United, where he scored a stunning goal to rescue a point for the Blues.
The midfielder has started every Premier League game this season under Maresca, and has survived the changes made in the middle of the park too.
Whether it be Romeo Lavia or Enzo Fernandez who joins him, the Ecuador international has been a constant top-performer all campaign.
According to The Telegraph, Maresca actually sees Caicedo as his most undroppable player, ahead of Palmer.
John Obi Mikel also believes Caicedo is the first name on the team sheet as far as Chelsea are concerned, with him running the game from the middle of the pitch.
Chelsea need Caicedo at his best against Arsenal
The 23-year-old will need to again be at his very best if Chelsea are to pick up a positive result when they meet Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta is confident the Gunners can beat the Blues, despite the fact they were defeated in Europe during the week.
Chelsea and Maresca in particular are still waiting for their first real big scalp of the season, with the perfect opportunity coming this weekend.
