Two directors of Silver Bell Junior Academy accused of administering a fake Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exam to 23 candidates have been released on bond.
Eldoret Chief Magistrate’s Court freed Margret Indaasi and Donald Lumwaji on a sh.300,000 bond each, with one surety of a similar amount. Presiding Magistrate Dennis Mikoyan directed the two to report to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for statement taking and to appear in court for plea taking in 14 days.
The two directors were arrested following investigations by the DCI into allegations of irregularities in the administration of the KPSEA exam at the academy. The investigation revealed that the exam administered to the 23 candidates was not the genuine KPSEA exam, prompting the arrest of the directors.
The case has raised concerns about the integrity of national examinations and the need for stringent measures to prevent such incidents.
