Electronic music heavyweight Zedd gets a day named after him

Grammy award winning DJ and producer Zedd received an honorary award from the City and County of San Francisco. San Franciscan Mayor London Breed, officially announced October 12th 2024 as “Zedd Day”

This is not a small feat, even for someone as accomplished and influential as Zedd. Most of the time, mayoral proclamations are issued to create public awareness or education, so for an artist to receive this kind of recognition is a major milestone.

The proclamation highlights Zedd as a key figure in the city’s recovery after COVID, as he headlined a sold-out show in August 2021 at the Bill Graham Auditorium. This was the first event after the pandemic at the iconic venue.

Zedd celebrated by showing off the proclamation to excited fans during a set at the Bill Graham Auditorium last month. He also released his new album Telos in August, which was his first album release in almost a decade. The album peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums and features collaborations with the likes of Remi Wolf and Bea Miller
