Ex-Zambia President Edgar Lungu mourns former diplomat to Malawi Dr. John Ngwata Phiri

Former Zambia President Edgar Chagwa Lungu has taken to social media to mourn the passing of former High Commissioner to Malawi Dr. John Ngwata Phiri.

Lungu described as man who served Zambia with distinction, diligence, loyalty, and commitment.

“We will remember him not only for his service and dedication to this country but also for his jovial, friendly mood, and laughter.

“On behalf of my wife Esther, our family, the Patriotic Front Party, Tonse Alliance, and the nation at large, i extend my deepest condolences to Dr. Phiri’s family, friends, and all Zambians on the loss of a great man who, through his dedication to service, contributed so much to the betterment of this country,” wrote Lungu.

He added: “May his dedication to service inspire us all, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.”

Funeral details of the ex-diplomat remain sketchy at the moment.
