Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has sent a heartfelt message to his Galatasaray teammate Mauro Icardi following the news that the Argentine forward’s season has come to an abrupt end due to injury.

Both players started in the Europa League clash against Tottenham Hotspur, where Osimhen delivered a stunning performance, scoring two goals to help secure a 3-2 victory for the Turkish giants.

The match took a sombre turn when Icardi was forced off the pitch with just five minutes remaining, leaving with Galatasaray leading 3-2.

Less than 24 hours after the game, the club confirmed that Icardi had suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee, effectively ending his season.

“Club today announced Mauro Icardi has suffered from a rupture in his right knee’s anterior cruciate ligament,” Galatasaray stated in a social media post.

In the wake of this devastating news, Osimhen took to Instagram to express his support for Icardi.
