Google forgot that it still hasn’t released the Pixel Watch ‘Performance Loop’ band
There’s a new “Performance Loop” band for the Pixel Watch in the works, but it hasn’t been released or officially announced just yet. This week, though, Google seemingly forgot about that.
In a community post spotted by Droid-Life, Google asks its users what combination of band and watch face they like to use on their Pixel Watch. The post offers a few ideas, and then opens the comments up to Pixel Watch owners to share their current setup.
Your Pixel Watch is more than just a timekeeper, it’s a fashion statement! We’re all about showcasing the endless possibilities of customizing your Pixel Watch with a variety of bands.
But, at the lead of the post, Google shows off the unreleased “Performance Loop” band on the Pixel Watch in two colors as pictured above with the two bands on the left side.
This new band uses a velcro-like attachment to allow a portion of the band to wrap back around on itself for a perfect fit. There’s no buckle, so the fit is infinitely customizable and should prove very comfortable especially in active situations. The design is one that Google also uses on the bands for the kid-focused Fitbit Ace LTE.
The “Performance Loop” has been showing up through retail leaks for a couple of months now, most recently surfacing on Best Buy’s website in Canada and revealing all of the color variants. This latest post from Google, though, is easily the best look we’ve had to date. The image hasn’t been removed in the nearly 20 hours since it was posted, but it’s clearly a slip-up on Google’s end seeing as the band still hasn’t been released on the Google Store.
Presumably, the actual launch isn’t all that far off, but with the holiday season fast approaching, it seems odd that Google hasn’t put it on sale. Whenever it does go on sale, it’s expected to cost around $60.
